You Don't Have a Food Problem, You Have a Trust Problem

Proverbs 3:5-6; one we hear and quote often, but do we actually live it out? “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.”
PRACTICAL STEPS:
1: PAUSE BEFORE YOU EAT - Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”
STEP 2: SAY IT OUT LOUD TO GOD
Psalm 62:8 “Pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” God is not asking you to hide your emotions. He’s inviting you to bring them.
STEP 3: WAIT 5-10 MINUTES
Proverbs 16:32 “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty…”
STEP 4: CHOOSE TRUST OVER COMFORT
1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
Heavenly Father, I confess that I’ve been turning to food instead of You. Again. I’ve been trying to manage my emotions on my own, and it’s not working. Teach me how to pause. Teach me how to come to You first. I felt so connected to You during Lent Jesus, reconnect my fire, I do not want to find myself drifting from the connection we made. Help me trust You in the moments where I feel overwhelmed, tired, or out of control.
I don’t want temporary comfort—I want real freedom that I know only comes from acknowledging Your perfect path for me. Help me to rid me of myself and walk in Your truth Jesus. It’s in Your perfect, Holy and Omniscient Name I pray, amen.
ACTION STEP: Pause. Before you eat anything; pause and bring it to God.
