Her Weight Loss Mindset | Lose Weight, Meal Prep, Healthy Habits, and Workouts
Weight Loss Without a Schedule: How to Stay on Track When Life’s Unpredictable
- 1 Corinthians 4:2 says “Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful.”
- This verse Teaches us that chaos doesn’t cancel our calling — we are still called to steward.
- We are called to steward our gifts well, our time, finances, our children and marriage. There will be seasons where we always feel in chaos, but God is still good and we still have to walk in Holy Spirit obedience.
- I want you to consider a few Anchor habits - An anchor habit is a non-negotiable routine: Here are a few examples:
- 10-min morning prayer time, reading the word or a devotional of some type. Maybe it’s water before coffee (this is one of mine) or a walk after dinner. Maybe it’s a quick workout before you touch your phone or check your email.
- Find a Grace rhythm: rotate routines, plan rest or quiet no screen time, take a bath or play a game with your family. Volunteer, do something that fills your cup.
- Habit stacking: pair a habit with something you already do. What healthy habits do you already have in place? Maybe a solid morning routine but you still check your phone or don’t drink enough water, this would be a great place to set a boundary for no phones until lunch time and water before coffee.
- Create your flexible structure and remember cultivating this habit may take time, that's ok!
- Choose one Anchor habit in the morning and 1 “grace habit” in the evening.
- Track it. Start journaling what habits you do when and which you enjoy the most. But remember, we track with grace, not guilt.

Atalie has popped more than 10 teeth, and she's eight months old.
My aunt, who's worked in dentistry for over 40 years, says that she's a mental phenomenon.
And I'm telling you what, her toothy grin is almost more than I can bear.
She is the most precious, perfect thing I have ever seen.
Anyway, teething loves ain't no joke, as many of you mamas out there know.
And it has tended to disrupt my plans, not every day, but now and again.
And with an unreleased sleep schedule, it's just really hard to know what we're in for next.
I know I've shared this with you before, I talked about this last week, I like to get up anywhere from 5 to 5.30.
And I know that typically she'll be awake by 7 to 7.15, so those first couple hours in the morning are my time to gather myself and spend time with the Lord in a prayer and just like getting my day ready.
And so what happens when she's up at 5.45 or 4.30 for that matter?
Sometimes I can give her a bottle and she'll go right back to sleep, but not always.
Life is unpredictable with a tiny baby and staying on track during those times is key for me to be the mom and wife that I know God has called me to be.
I'm sure you've been there too.
So how do we do it?
How do we stay on track with those unpredictable times?
Maybe you don't have kids, but I'm sure you've experienced this in another way.
I know I did many thousand times before Adlai came into our lives.
So how do we stay on track with our weight loss without a schedule?
Let's see.
Are you sick of trying diet after diet and not losing weight?
Are you tired of doubting your ability to actually lose weight in a healthy way?
Do you wish you could find a laid out for you plan that will help you stay accountable to your goals?
Hey, friend, I'm Lindy Schlabach, Christian Fitness & Nutrition Coach.
I gained 100 pounds in my late 20s and struggled for years to get it off.
So grab your pre-workout and let's chat.

1 Corinthians 4 2 says, Now, a person who is put in chart as a manager must be faithful.
What does this verse teach us?
It teaches us that chaos doesn't cancel our calling.
We are still called to steward.
People often say God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but this is not true and it is definitely not biblical.
He always gives us more than we can handle because he wants us to come to him for help and guidance.
We are called to steward our gifts well.
What are those gifts?
Our time, our finances, our children, our marriage.
There will be seasons, I imagine, where we always feel in chaos, but God is still good and we still need to walk in that Holy Spirit obedience.
To be honest, I always feel like I'm in the most chaotic times.
I'm more peaceful because I know I'm not in control and he's going to handle whenever I surrender.
I don't always surrender.
Sometimes it's like take this Lord and then I take it back, take this Lord and take it back, and then I'm laying it down at the foot of the cross and then I take it back.
I know I'm not alone here.
But in the most chaotic times, when you feel that peace that passes all understanding, that's the fruit of the Spirit.
That is the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and when we surrender, he will take it.
I want you to consider a few anchor habits.
What is an anchor habit?
An anchor habit is a non-negotiable routine, and I want to give you a couple of examples.
So think about 10-minute morning prayer time, or reading in the word, or devotional of some sort.
I love devotionals.
I think they're fantastic, but I think that God's Holy Word should always come first.
Pray, read, and then ask him to reveal to you from his word, what he wants you to take from it.
Maybe one of your anchor habits could be water before coffee.
This is one of my non-negotiables every single day, or maybe you want to incorporate a walk after dinner.
Maybe it's a quick workout in the morning before you touch your phone or check your email.
Find what that anchor habit is going to be for you, and live it.
Next, I want you to find a grace rhythm.
Rotate your routines.
Plan your rest or quiet time or maybe no screen time.
Maybe take a bath or play a game with your family.
Maybe you want to volunteer.
Just do something that fills your cup.
And the next thing, habits stack.
Pair a habit with something you already do.
What healthy habits you already have in place?
Maybe you have a solid morning routine, but you still check your phone or don't drink enough water.
This would be a great place to set a boundary for no phones until lunchtime, or you could do your water before coffee.
I want you to create a flexible structure and remember, cultivating this habit may take a few weeks to get down, but progress over perfection is key.
So I want you to choose one anchor habit in the morning and one grace habit in the evening and then track it.
When you start journaling the habits you enjoy the most, you are going to want to gravitate towards those.
That's fantastic.
Build those into your routine and then you can implement another anchor habit.
Remember always, we track with grace, not guilt.
Pray for strength and Holy Spirit conviction to anchor these habits in your life and God will show you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it, and trust that when you're walking in Holy Spirit obedience, He is going to lead and guide you to everything that He has for you.
Life will always be unpredictable.
God is not.
He is there.
He is sovereign.
He is your Holy Father and He wants to help lead you in this way.
God, help me build habits that thrive in the messy middle and thank you for the grace on the days I fall short.
Thank you for leading me to the areas I need to improve on the most.
Let me steward all of my gifts well, Lord.
I love you.
Amen.
