Tired of Hitting Snooze? 3 Ways to Look Forward to Waking Up Early
I could chat about this topic all day! Listen, this was HARD for me, I had to rely on God's strength instead of my own, but knowing I needed to make this change allowed me to be choose gratitude that I even was BLESSED to get life that day, not everyone did.
Here are my 3 steps: (be teachable always) if you're not where you need to be, have the COURAGE to make a new choice then take the ACTION required!
1. Pray the night before and ask God to give you His strength when the alarm goes off!
2. Set your phone or alarm a MINIMUM of 10 feed from your bed, NO MORE GOING TO SLEEP WITH IT BESIDE YOU. As you walk to it, thank God for life and breath and the strength to stay up and grateful!
3. Set alarm volume on HIGH with worship music or a sound that will wake you up JOYFULLY.
THIS WILL WORK, PRAY THROUGH IT AND HE WILL PROVIDE

I'm going to give you a couple ways to look forward to waking up.
Oh man, in 2018, when I decided, or 2017 when I decided to build a business coaching, I was working outside of the home and I had to find a way to wake up early.
I wanted to connect with Jesus first, get my workout in and be to work on time.
I had about a 35-minute commute, so these three steps helped me and I hope that they help you.
So, grab a piece of paper, grab a pen, and let's get to it.

It's a Holy Spirit led approach to weight loss God's way.
I hope to see you there.
So I have never been a morning person.
I didn't grow up in an early morning house.
Usually I had my brother and I up before my mom and stepdad got up.
I mean, for years that was my life, like slept till 10 o'clock, sometimes 11.
And so it was really hard for me to shift my brain.
And I just didn't want to get up in the dark, to be honest.
Like I live in Indiana, winters, especially when I decided that this, well, I felt conviction to do this.
But his conviction was stronger than my excuses.
And I just continued to say, okay, I am a person of action.
I wake up with joy and I prayerfully ask God to lead me.
And these were three ways that I started to incorporate early morning weight loss.
I had to get up at four to get the things done that I knew I wanted to get done.
The network that I have worked with for a long time, Body Formally Beachbody, was launching a new 80-day program.
And the workouts were pretty long.
And so I wanted to make sure I had time in the morning.
And so I had to be very intentional.
So one thing that I learned to do was pray before bed, which was huge.
I said, OK, Lord, thank you for waking me up with gusto.
Enjoy tomorrow and give me the self-control and expectation to just you know, wake up and be excited to spend time with you and move my body.
I had to do this because I need to operate on his power and not my own.
I think so many times we forget that the Holy Spirit is our power.
He is our strength.
He is what gives us what we need.
So when we can rid ourselves of, rid us of ourselves and learn to operate in Holy Spirit power, we are going to be so much stronger.
So maybe read a verse before you go to bed, or maybe you have one that's imprinted on your heart already.
I like 2 Timothy 1,7.
It says, For God did not give her the spirit of fear, but the power of love and self-discipline.
Self-discipline is the fruit of the spirit.
You read in Galatians.
When we can go to bed and say, okay, Lord, thank you so much for waking me up tomorrow.
If you bless me with life tomorrow, just I am going to wake up and I am going to be excited to spend my first, give you those first fruits of my day.
So, my second step is to set your phone or your alarm at least 10 steps from you.
Because when that alarm goes off, your first thought is going to be, thank you, Jesus, for life and breath.
And as you joyfully walk those 10 or 15 steps to your phone, he's going to give you that power to stay up, stay grateful, stay moving, and you're going to just walk to the kitchen, chug your 16 ounces of water, and you're going to be ready to get in the word, to pray.
If you're going to work out in the morning, you'll have your 15 to 20 minutes to do that.
And it is just going to be a game changer for you.
Okay?
Now, try this, practice this one to two days a week to start.
I don't recommend a Monday.
I always like a Thursday or Friday because I'm excited for Fridays.
I usually have a little bit more of a lax day.
So that's a really easy one for me to practice getting up early.
Okay?
So pick one to two days to start.
All right?
And the last thing you're going to do is you're going to set your alarm ring on full blast.
Now, you can do an obnoxious alarm if you want to.
I recommend a worship song that makes you happy, that has a good beat to it, because letting God be your first thought when that alarm goes off instead of, oh, I have to get up, we operate in a hard posture of, I get to get up because God chose to woke me up today.
That's a blessing not everyone receives.
Again, we're operating in his strength, not ours and what a powerful mindset shift.
We have to give up the strive and try.
We have to give up the, I have to do this.
All you have to do is say a prayer and let God give you what you need.
If you're tired of hitting snooze, try these three things.
Pray before bed.
Set your alarm at least 10 feet, preferably 15 feet away from your bed.
Do not put your phone by your bed when you go to sleep.
Uh-uh.
We're changing that habit.
We're getting up, we're walking, we're talking to Jesus.
Give him that first thought of your day.
Then we're setting our alarm volume all the way up on a worship song or whatever is going to get you out of bed.
As we walk to that alarm, thank you Father for the gift of life.
Let me not take it for granted.
Let me find joy in spending time in the Word this morning, in prayer, in movement.
And I promise you, pretty soon you're going to look forward to waking up early.
I love now getting up in the dark because when I can do that, I can get a couple of cups of coffee in, I can get my prayer time in, and especially being a new mom at 42, having a six-week-old that I, or now she's 10 weeks old, I guess, that I was, did not know we were getting.
You know, it's a complete and total mindset shift, but I just wake up with gratitude for God giving us this most precious gift.
And it's just been the complete and total game changer in my life for the past eight years, but especially the past couple of weeks.
It just, it will change your perspective completely.
